Obituary

Michael “Mike” Poirier of Littleton, Colorado passed away on February 20, 2023 at the age of 63. Mike is survived by Michael II (son) and his wife Marie, Nicole (daughter), Josiah (son), Johanna (daughter), Joseph “Jay” (brother) and his wife Barbara, and Steven (brother) and his wife Kathleen. He is preceded in death by his loving parents Joseph and Frances Poirier of Denver, Colorado.

Mike was born on January 31, 1960 in Denver, Colorado as the youngest of three brothers. He spent his entire life in the Denver Metro Area. He graduated from Mullen High School, and then he received his bachelor's degree from Colorado State University. After graduation, he joined his brothers at the Perfect Patch Asphalt Co., which continues to be a successful business to this day.

Mike’s children from his marriage (1987 - 2011) to Kimberly Poirier were his greatest joy in life. He never missed an opportunity to say how happy and proud he was of their accomplishments. He constantly doted over them all, and he valued time with them over anything else. He was an excellent role model for his children, and they will cherish all of the wonderful memories they have made over the years.

Mike was also passionate about guitars, cars, and spending time in the beautiful Rocky Mountains. When he wasn’t snowmobiling on Corona Pass, camping near Estes Park, or fishing at Montgomery Reservoir, you could find Mike in his garage working on his prized 1965 Chevrolet Impala, or in the living room jamming on one of the many guitars from his collection. He loved to host family gatherings, and he would jump on any chance to celebrate a holiday or a loved one.

Mike was a hard working, honest, kind, intelligent, and exemplary man that you could rely on 100%. He had a rich sense of humor, and he remained upbeat even in the face of adversity. He was an excellent father, brother, and friend.

Michael Poirier leaves behind a legacy of kindness, hard work, good music, and a strong faith in God. As his loved ones work to heal from this immense loss, they will never forget his kind heart and the love he had for his family.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Littleton, Colorado on Tuesday, March 14th at 11am. A rosary will be said before the Mass at 10:30am inside the church. Mike will then be laid to rest at Littleton Cemetery following the services.  Reception to follow at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel.
