Minnie Martinez, of Centennial, CO, passed away on May 21, 2024, at Littleton Advent Hospital due to pneumonia, after a strong fight. Born on January 20th, 1926, in Denver, CO. Despite her 98 youthful and vibrant years on this earth, we thought we would have her longer than we did. She was known for her kind heart, devotion to her family (especially her 2 daughters and 5 granddaughters), and for her love of animals of all kinds.
Preceded in death by her husband, Paul Martinez, and siblings Victor, Archie, Mercedes, Dave, Tommy. Minnie is survived by her sister Helen, daughters Susan (Greg) and Mary Ann (Bruce), granddaughters Connie (Tim), Christy (Lou), Cindy (Evan), Brittany (Daniel) and Cayla (Jacen), 9 great grandchildren (plus one on the way), along with nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Minnie was loved by all that knew her. She had a love for the Denver Broncos, poker, scrabble, listening to opera (especially The Three Tenors), and watching Dancing With the Stars. She never gave up hope of winning the lottery. Above all, Minnie loved her daughters and granddaughters, to whom she provided unwavering support during good times and during their times of need. While she loved all her girls first and foremost, her pets were a very close second.
Minnie's kindness and love was not only felt by, but will live on - through all that knew her. A visit to the doctor's office or hair salon resulted in kisses and hugs for everyone she encountered. She truly touched the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 3rd, 2024, at Drinkwine Mortuary (999 W. Littleton Blvd; Littleton, CO, 80120) at 11:00 am, immediately followed by a graveside service at Chapel Hill Cemetery (6601 S. Colorado Blvd; Centennial, CO, 80121).
