Nicholas Romano Obituary

Nicholas Allen Romano was born on November 10, 1965 to Neil and Elna Romano.  He was the little brother to Sue and John, and the completion to the Romano family.  Nick was an active child who never sat still and had energy for days.  Nick was just 2 years old when Neil and Ellie opened Romano’s and he often took naps under the counter as his Mom and Dad worked.     There’s a photo hanging in Romano’s of little 4 year old Nick helping his Dad roll the dough, or with an apron on helping Ellie wipe a table. In elementary school he discovered he was a great soccer player and a skilled bowler.  He went on to Euclid Junior High and Littleton High School where he discovered a love of performing.  He was a fantastic singer in the LHS Singers and had many solo performances.   He graduated from LHS in 1984.   He worked at Romano’s Italian Restaurant from a young age and the restaurant business became his life.

He was a gifted chef who could put flavors together intuitively, and the result was always fantastic.  In addition to many Italian influenced entrees, he made delicious desserts, including his famous peanut butter pie! Nick loved making people happy through his cooking.

He married Priscilla Stackhouse in May of 1989 and they were blessed with a daughter, Jordan. Nick and Jordan loved to travel, Disneyland being one of their favorite destinations. She was the love of Nick’s life and he was so proud of her.  Jordan works to carry on the legacy of Romano’s to this day.

Nick lived in his hometown of Littleton most all his life, with so many friends and family who will miss him greatly.   He raced his bike down to Ketring Park, went to every Western Welcome Week Parade, and loved the slot car arcade that was next to Romano’s in the early years.  He loved to play living room football with his brother, John, his lifelong friend Todd Jordan, and his cousins Lou and Gerald Romano.  During all that noise and ruckus, Sue would retreat to her room and shut the door.  These are the memories we will hold dear.  Rest in Peace, Nick.  We know you are stirring that sauce in heaven with Dad and all our loved ones.
