Mrs. Patricia Ann Benevitti, age 87, of Westcliffe, CO, passed away Friday morning, September 20, 2024, at her residence.
She was born March 27, 1937, in Custer County, a daughter of the late Oral Eakins and Nellie Warren Eakins.
Patricia was preceded in death by her daughter, Mindy Montgomery, one son, Mark Montgomery; one great-grandson, Ricky Moreschini; two sisters, Majorie Eakins and Hallie Eakins.
She is survived by her daughter Marcy Caraballo, her son Paul Montgomery Jr, her grandchildren Tamera, Holly, Trisha, Amanda, Matthew, Ryan, and Sasha, her great-grandchildren Cody, Kaitlyn, Randy, Raymond, Angel, Caleb, Jocelyn, and Stephen, and her great great-grandchildren Cade and Ezio. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
Born and raised in Westcliffe, CO, eventually moving to Pueblo, CO where she spent 50 years working for the Colorado Mental Health Hospital as a therapist, where she was well known and admired. She showed Afghan Hounds, enjoyed yard work, and was obsessed with Christmas.
She officially retired in 2013 at the age of 76. Later in life, she moved to Highlands Ranch where she enjoyed eating her way around the city, getting a good mani/pedi, replanting her potted plants every spring, playing Yahtzee, and rescuing Persian cats.
Patricia led by example. She was exceptionally hard-working, strong, determined, and fiercely independent. She was beautiful and incredibly generous. She loved her family more than anything. Our lives were forever changed by her presence, and now by her absence. We will miss her every day.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to Happy Cats Haven, 327 Manitou Ave, Manitou Springs, CO 80829.
