Patricia Young (Doyle), 72 years old, entered eternal life on January 14th, 2024. Her spirit is survived by her husband Russell, brother John Doyle, sister Mary Ann Ziemba (Doyle), nephew Casey Doyle, nieces, Leilani Rich and Sydney Ziemba, and beloved dog Rosebud.
Born on June 12, 1951 to the late Rosemary and Brendan Doyle. She was the third of four children and was adored by her siblings; older brothers John and the late Joe Doyle, and baby sister Mary Ann.
She spent her childhood and early youth in Chicago, then moved to Denver, CO in 1974.
Patty had a unique ability to make any person feel seen, appreciated, and loved. Her happiness was simply contagious. Without even trying, she was always the comforting light in the room, the source of everyone’s smile. Her humor and laugh were incredibly infectious, and she could completely lift anyone’s spirit, even on the worst of days.
Patty and Russell enjoyed driving across the country staying off the interstates and mingling with the locals. She loved spending quality time with her family and friends, gardening, reading, playing games and watching her favorite movies. She also valued spending time at her favorite brewery Locavore with Russell, and of course playing Zoomies with Rosebud in the backyard. She volunteered at Columbine United Church, as well as Nourish Meals on Wheels, finding that giving her time to others is what made her happiest.
Patty never missed a loved one’s birthday and many looked forward to her hilarious Happy Birthday phone calls, singing loud and boisterous, knowing it would make them laugh. She truly was the definition of “enjoying the little things in life.” Spending time with her would remind you how beautiful life is, and how important it is to share that beauty with the ones you love.
You’ll find Patty’s warm heart and smile in every dog you meet and peony you pass by.
We will continue to celebrate Patty’s spirit through the little joys of life. Through the jokes we make, the laughter we share and the love we have to give. She will be extremely missed, but we know she will forever exist in our lives, our souls and in our hearts.
Patty, we love you madly, and we will miss you. Cheers to you.
Services and Celebration of Life are to be scheduled at a later date. We ask that in lieu of flowers that donations be made in her name to either Humane Society of the South Platte Valley or Nourish Meals on Wheels.
