Patricia Jeanette Reinhardt Obituary

Patricia (Richter) Reinhardt fell into her Savior's arms after a life’s race well run on March 3, 2025. Born the oldest of six children in Kearney, Nebraska, on July 8, 1938, to Lawrence and Violet Richter, Pat grew up on a farm. She and her siblings were expected to work hard, milking cows and feeding livestock before and after school. She loved telling stories of her beloved childhood family and life on the farm.

After graduating from Kearney High School at age 16, Pat moved to Lincoln, NE, to attend St. Elizabeth School of Nursing. She received her RN Nursing degree and worked as the head Emergency Room nurse at Douglas County (Omaha) Hospital as well as Mutual of Omaha. She received her BA degree from Loretto Heights University. On a blind date in 1959, Pat met Ed Reinhardt. After Ed’s five marriage proposals, Pat finally said yes, and they were married in her hometown on her 23rd birthday, July 8, 1961. Over the next few years, the family moved from Omaha to Sioux City, IA, to Columbia, MO, and eventually to Littleton, CO, where they have resided for the past 50 years.

Pat’s incredible love and dedication to her family are remembered in numerous loving and funny stories from her six children—John (Jennifer), Rose (Ted), Eddie, Tom, Paul, and Matt (Kelsey)—and her twelve grandchildren—Nick, Meredith, Lindsey, Thomas, Matthew, Whitney, Brandon (Victoria), Marissa (Oscar), Elizabeth, Leah, Gabby, and Andrew—as well as her three great-granddaughters, Emilee, Aria, and Bella.

Throughout her life, Pat had a strong love for her Roman Catholic faith. She took her family to many religious functions, and she belonged to numerous Catholic organizations over the years. She had a lifelong quest to learn more about God and become closer to Him. Pat seemed to have a direct line with the Almighty, praying for many people during her life. Through her intercession, many people were healed of their infirmities.

In September 1984, her son Eddie was playing football for the University of Colorado and sustained a traumatic brain injury during a game. Pat and Ed threw themselves into Eddie’s rehabilitation with the help of 140 volunteers a week. Pat led a rigorous physical, occupational, and speech rehabilitation program for him, with many of those rehab activities continuing to this day.

Through the years, Pat meticulously researched and authored two cherished family history books, traveling across the country and to Germany to gather stories and historical records, resulting in a beautifully detailed account of her pioneering ancestors.

Having unexplained medical symptoms in 2007 while attending a Western Welcome parade event, Pat stopped into a Parkinson’s information booth. After looking at literature, she identified eight of the ten symptoms of Parkinson’s disease and was diagnosed with the disease soon after. Over the past 18 years, the disease took away more and more of her capabilities. She never complained and continued her dedication to her family, faith, and community throughout her years of physical decline.

Pat is survived by her husband, Floyd Edward Reinhardt; her siblings, James Dean Richter, Sally Schulte, and Rick Richter (DeAnn); her sister-in-law, Bunnie (Reinhardt) Kizer; her brother-in-law, Virgil Spellman and numerous beloved nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Violet Richter; her siblings, Jim (Jeni) Richter, Karen (Dick) Clark, Linda Spellman, Jean Richter, and Jim Schulte; and her in-laws, Margaret and Floyd Reinhardt, Rita McAnany (Francis), Kitty Lomatch (Carl), John Reinhardt (Beth), Jim Reinhardt (Patt), Frank Skradski, and William Kizer.

Pat’s family takes comfort in her lifelong faith and love for God and will miss her beautiful smile and sense of humor.
