Phillip Newton Jackson passed away on February 11th, 2019. He was the son of Robert Earl and Maggie Pearl (Corley) Jackson and was born in Belen, NM on July 14, 1928. He was the youngest of four siblings, Thomas Howard, Mary Earline and Lois Arline.
When he was seven, his family moved to Clovis, NM where he grew up and attended high school. He joined and served in the United States Navy from April 3rd, 1946 until January 30th, 1948, at which time he was honorably discharged.
He married Loura Ann Tanner on November 28, 1948 and they had three children, Phyllis (Jackson) Hoskins, Gary R. Jackson and Karen (Jackson) Morris. He and Loura Ann were married for 60 years.
He has five grandchildren, Phillip Hoskins, Kim (Hoskins) Barnes, Daniel Jackson, Katie (Jackson) Devey and Jackie (Dobbins) Scheidler, as well as eight great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Loura Ann, his son Gary Jackson and daughter Karen Morris. He and Loura Ann were laid to rest at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colorado.
