Phyllis W. Burr was born to Maxine Jorgensen and Leslie Riegel on March 9, 1936 in Lincoln, Nebraska. She passed away peacefully at the age of 84, on March 22, 2020 in Littleton, Colorado. As her perseverance, dedication, and devotion will forever reflect our family.
Phyllis moved to Colorado at an early age, in which she attended Englewood Highschool. There, she was introduced to the man she would forever share her extraordinary love with, Thomas L. Burr. Married June 19, 1953 at a young age, the Burr’s love was united. A blessed marriage that lasted 60 wonderful years here on Earth, will now proceed eternally as Phyllis is back in Tom’s beloved arms.
The tenacious bond between Phyllis and Tom rewarded the couple with two beautiful daughters, Leslie (Dennis) Snyder and Lorrie (David) Main. As their pride and joy, both daughters display all the blissful characteristics, values, and attitudes instilled within them from Phyllis and Tom. Exhibiting acceptance, comfort, and care Phyllis always showed a helping hand to her four grandchildren whom will forever remember her as “Beautiful Grandma.” Alan (Damien) Pontine, Jesica (Michael) Suddath, Jody (Jay) Aiken, Melissa (Leroy) Bustos as well as to all twelve of her great grandchildren.
“Some people move our souls to dance. They awaken us to new understandings with the passing whisper of their wisdom. Some people make the sky more beautiful to gaze upon. They will stay in our lives for a while, leave footprints on our hearts, and we are never, ever the same.” Flavia Weeden
Phyllis was a strongly devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Now, our beautiful grandma is rejoicing with her honorable little grandson, Nathan Pontine (Grizzy) and her deeply loved husband of 60 years, Thomas L. Burr. She will be greatly missed by all.
Celebration of Life Services will be held at a later date.
