Phyllis Imholte, longtime Littleton resident, passed away on May 9th, 2026 at the age of 93. She was born in Peoria, Illinois on December 8th, 1932. She is survived by her only son Richard, and daughter in law Jean of Athol, Idaho. Phyllis had two grandchildren; Robin Rucinsky also of Athol, and Jill Leonard of Chandler, Arizona. She had eight great grandchildren.
Phyllis grew up in St. Cloud, Minnesota where she graduated from St. Cloud Tech High School. Following graduation she attended St. Olaf College. She moved to Wheat Ridge, Colorado in 1963, and worked as an executive secretary at the Ideal Cement Company. Thirty some years later she retired, and moved to Littleton.
Phyllis was an avid bridge player and member of the American Contract Bridge League for over thirty years. She also loved to travel and was a charter member of the Ports of Call travel club. Among her most memorable foreign trips were excursions to Australia, Ireland, and Kenya, Africa. While in Kenya, she went on safari and enjoyed a hot air balloon ride. Domestically she enjoyed trips to Las Vegas, Branson, Missouri and Nashville, Tennessee.
Phyllis was proud of her Norwegian heritage, and was a longstanding member of the Sons of Norway. She was also a member of Augustana Lutheran Church, and she supported many charities. Among her favorites were Boys Town, and Habitat for Humanity, as well as the St. Jude and Shriner’s Hospitals.
