Priscilla Ann Panagos Payne
Born: July 15, 1939 - Died: November 12, 2023
Priscilla Payne, 84, formerly of Owensboro, Kentucky passed away in Lone Tree, CO. Daughter of the late George L Panagos and Evelyn Carrico Panagos Downs, Priscilla grew up in Owensboro knowing the love of her life, Marshall Lee Payne, since childhood. Married 54 years, Marshall preceded her in death in 2013.
Priscilla was a vibrant woman who regarded family first with an emphasis on tradition. She raised 4 children while supporting Marshall's career. As her children grew independent, she worked at Joslins Department Store and Red Rocks Community College. Family celebrations, travelling and fishing were some of her favorite pastimes. Priscilla loved hats and as a member of the Red Hat Society she wore her hat proudly! Dressing up and either hosting a party or going out to a party to dance brought her joy.
Crafting, gardening, church & community choir, and genealogy research kept her busy in retirement and she was a member of the Veitch Historical Society and The Dancing Grannies. A Denver Bronco season ticket holder since the early 70's, you could always count on Priscilla to cheer for her home team!
Survivors include her children, Tracy Bartlett (Dave), CO, Sharon Pyle (Kevin), CO, Alex Payne, FL, Michael Payne (Kristy), CO, her sister Janie Hancock, KY, and her sister-in-law Caroline Panagos, NM. Known as "Grandmama" to Trevor Pyle (Kristen), Aubrie Fletcher (Ben), Shaylee Clark (Ryan), Sarah Humrick (Hans), Madison Bills, Lauren Payne, Cassidy Dilley, Travis Payne and Corbin Payne. She is also survived by 3 step grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 6 step great grandchildren.
Memorial Service will be held at 11AM on Monday, November 27th, 2023, at Drinkwine Family Mortuary, 999 West Littleton Blvd, Littleton CO; a reception will immediately follow at Drinkwine Reception Hall.
