Ramona Corina Butts

Mary Ramona Corina Butts, 93, passed away peacefully in the early morning of September 16, 2021 at home with her family. Proceeded in death by her mother Vivian Gonzalez and father Enrique “Henry” Gutierrez, sisters Madge, Inez, brother Harry and her beloved grandson’s Victor and Vincent.

Ramona is survived by her brother Damacio “Dee” and sister Virginia “Jean”. Daughters Karla (Rick) and Cheryl. Grandchildren Nathan, Julie, Jennifer and Audra. Also great-granddaughters Kylie and Emma and several nieces and a nephew and of course her dog Sweetie.

She always maintained a positive attitude. No matter what was going on in her life she always cared about her family and their health and happiness.

She was an amazingly strong woman who raised two daughters on her own with very little money. When she lost her eyesight to macular degeneration she discovered books on tape. She loved learning about history. That opened up a whole new world for her listening to hundreds of books on tape. Ramona also loved to garden, getting her hands in the dirt was a special joy. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her.

A celebration of her life will be held 11:00AM on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Drinkwine Family Mortuary. A reception will follow the service at Drinkwine Family Reception Hall.
