Ray Stuart Trautman

Ray was born in Minneapolis, MN on 4/20/1943 to his parents Lu and Bunny Trautman. Ray spent 4 years serving our country in the Air Force and was honorably discharged July 15, 1966 - achieving the rank of Airman Basic E-1. In 1970 Ray and his wife Virginia moved to Littleton, CO where he remained a resident for the remaining 51 years of his life. Ray was an auto mechanic who owned a series of his own service stations in the late 1970’s and early 1980’s. His stations were located at the corners of Broadway and Euclid and Windermere and Powers in Littleton. The remainder of his career was spent working at a series of auto dealerships eventually retiring from Ralph Schomp Honda. 

Ray was very generous with his time and would assist anyone with mechanical issues, or those needing assistance with their cars. He also had an extensive collection of tools in the garage he was willing to lend to anyone. Ray loved sports, especially football and attended Heritage HS Football games in every decade since the 1970s. Ray was a devote Christian who loved Jesus and was a member of Mission Hills Church dating back to the time the church was located on University.

Ray is preceded in death by his wife, Virginia (Ginny) Trautman. He will be missed by his children; Vicki (Trautman) and Erik Schneider (Daniel, Austin & Olivia) of Littleton, CO, Todd and Janet Trautman (Hunter & Rylan) of Ft Worth, TX and Brian and Karley Trautman (Cale, Tate & Gracie) of Highlands Ranch, CO.

Services for Ray will be held at Mission Hills Church in Littleton at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 28, 2021. Later this fall, Ray’s remains will be laid to rest at Ft Logan National Cemetery.
