Renata Marquardt Obituary

It is with a shattered heart that our children and I announce the death of our wonderful wife and  mother, Renee Marquardt, on February 9th, 2025 in Denver Colorado at the age of 55.

Renee was born in Budapest, Hungary on September 14, 1969. She arrived in the USA at the  age of 14 with her Mom, Klara, and her brother, Laszlo. Soon after they settled down in  Colorado.

Renee loved life, her family and friends and her pets. She cared about people more than most.  Her love language was caring, helping, and giving. Her level of love and support extended  beyond her husband, children and close family, she would help a stranger standing outside a  store if she could, to her, no one was a stranger for long. Renee’s need to help was why she  spent much of her career as a home health care nurse.

Renee also loved Nature and the outdoors. During her family’s time living in Frisco and  Leadville she spent many hours on hikes with the kids and her dog Angel exploring the forests.  Every morning before work she would feed the birds and squirrels outside their home and in  the summer make sure the hummingbird feeder was full. Even the bears who would knock over  the trashcans every fall were a source of delight for her.

However much she loved nature and helping others, most of Renee’s love and the sheer joy in  her life came from watching and supporting her family. She took such pride in Matthew, Sean  and Cheyenne and watching them grow and succeed into the adults they have become. She  celebrated her brother and sister-in-laws accomplishments and couldn’t wait to share the new  milestones of her niece and nephews. The loss of her mother, Klara, many years ago was very  hard on Renee and often spoke of the things she was sad her mom missed out on. But, by far  the most love she gave and shared was with her husband of 28 years, Bret. Through thick and  thin, highs and lows, she was always by his side, being supportive and protective.

Renee leaves behind her husband Bret, their children Matthew, Sean and Cheyenne. Her  brother Laszlo, his wife Cindy and their children Danny, Ben and Grace. Her brother-in-law  Steve and his wife Tracy, her mother-in-law Jan, Matthew’s partner Vanessa, Cheyenne’s  girlfriend Nova. Many cousins and relatives in her native Hungary, her step-children and step grandchildren.

Renee’s parents Klara and Bela and her father-in-law Ron preceded her in death.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to your charity of choice in Renata's name and memory.
