GEORGE EDWARD BRUNSMAN

George Edward Brunsman of Littleton, Colorado passed away at 12:01 a.m. on October 21, 2020 in Willowbrook Place Memory Care in Littleton, Colorado.

Born July 15, 1925, in Greenview, Illinois to Karl H. and Millie R. Brunsman, he married the love of his life Dolores A. Sanwald, On October 21, 1950 in Waco, Texas. Dolores predeceased him by 30 hours, passing away on October 19, 2020 at 6:45 p.m. He passed away on their 70th wedding anniversary. Two brothers, Robert and Kenneth Brunsman and one sister, Eleanor Atkinson, predeceased him.

Surviving are two sons, George Victor Brunsman of Bartonville, Illinois, Robin Dee Brunsman of Raleigh, North Carolina and two daughters, Dee Ann Nylund of Littleton, Colorado and Betsy Kaye Brunsman of Aurora, Colorado. They were predeceased by one son Michael David Brunsman on July 14, 2017 of Georgetown, Texas. She leaves 12 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

George was a 33 year veteran of the United States Air Force participating as an Aviator in World War II, the Korean Campaign and the Vietnam Campaign. His final assignment was a Commander of the United States Air Force Division of Martin Marietta, retiring from the Air Force in 1975. During his career, he was awarded 42 medals and accommodations. Following retirement, he was the Business Manager of Littleton United Methodist Church in Littleton, Colorado, with Dolores as his secretary for 11 years. He was a devoted father, grandfather and great grandfather who is and will continue to be greatly missed, but he is with his beloved wife and Lord and Savior in heaven.

Funeral Services for George and Dolores will be held on Monday, November 9, 2020 at 11:00AM at Drinkwine Family Mortuary, 999 W. Littleton Boulevard, Littleton, CO 80120.  Burial Services, with full military honors for Ret. Col. George Brunsman, will follow at Ft. Logan National Cemetery at 1:00PM, Staging Area "A", 3698 S. Sheridan Blvd., Denver, CO 80236 

Due to COVID-19, we ask all attendees follow CDC and State of Colorado guidelines, which will include wearing masks and proper social distancing.
