Richard was born in Denver in 1960 at St. Luke's Hospital to James and Marilyn Lyle. He grew up in Denver and attended schools there. He graduated from Mullen High School in 1978. He received the Evans Scholarship ant attended CU University and continued to the University of Wyoming to complete his Petroleum Engineering Degree as well as his Professional Engineering degree. 1985. His first job was for the EPA in Chicago. From there he was hired by Ken Davis Assoc and worked in drilling wells across Indiana and Michigan and off shore drilling near Louisiana. He moved back to Colorado and with a friend Ken Cooper formed a company they named Petrotek specializing in deep well injection wells. He worked throughout Kansas and Colorado until his health issues caused him to retire near Parker. Maintaining his interest in the company until he had to retire again. Rick married Julie Brophy and they settled near Parker Colorado and raised two daughters, Kayla and Samantha. He is now the grandfather of a grandson named Parker Lyle Ratty living in Oregon. He was also married to Annette Betts From Kansas. His hobbies included motorcycling, hunting and fishing with friends. His health issues limited his life but he was much loved by his friends and family for his generosity and his fun loving nature. Despite the constant pain he suffered, he did not complain and tried to find joy in life. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.
