Robert Ensor Obituary

Robert Calvin Ensor (Cal), 91, of Littleton, Colorado, passed away on January 6, 2021, surrounded by family.

He was born to parents Alton and Lucy Ensor on July 29, 1929 in Timonium, Maryland. Cal graduated from Sparks High School in Sparks, Maryland, and received a bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Maryland. He then began his career at Martin Marietta in Baltimore.

Cal married Barbara Anne Bishop in 1955 and moved from Maryland to Denver, eventually settling in Littleton. Together they had two children, Bret and Rebecca. Cal worked for Martin Marietta in Colorado until retiring.

Cal was an avid skier, hunter, fisherman, and target shooter. He was a member of the Colorado Mountain Club and the Skyline Hunting and Fishing Club. Cal also had a passion for cars. He enjoyed participating in Porsche related activities as a long-time member of the Rocky Mountain 356 Club.

Cal was a simple man, but well versed in history with an appreciation for superior engineering, good cooking, good reading, and great music. He was fiercely independent with a sharp unassuming intellect, steadfastly practical in all things and wise in matters of the heart.

Cal is survived by his children Bret Ensor (Catherine) and Rebecca Cameron, his grandchildren April Ensor, Cassandra Cameron, Amanda Jacobson (Tommie), Jeff Ensor, Kevin Ensor and one great-grandchild, Ocean Jenkins. He is also survived by his sister Margretta Waters, nephews Jeff Trower and Scott (Lisa) Trower, grand-niece Lauren, and grand-nephews Logan and Christopher.

He was preceded in death by his wife Barbara, brother-in-law Ernest Waters, and nephew Cory Trower.

There will be a visitation at the Drinkwine Family Mortuary, 999 W. Littleton Blvd., Littleton, Colorado, on Tuesday, January 12, 2021, from 3-6 p.m. A private service and burial will be held at the Littleton Cemetery. A celebration of Cal’s life will be scheduled at a later date.

The family asks that people make donations in support of the Wounded Warrior Project, the Range of Motion Project, or a local food bank, in lieu of sending flowers.
