Rodney Lippman passed unexpectedly Monday, May 13, 2024.
He is survived by his wife Julie, sons Colton, Alex and Blake and sister Laura.
Rodney was most proud of being a penalty box attendant in the NHL for many years.
He was involved in the Colorado ice hockey community since he was 15. He spent his life driving a Zamboni and working in nearly every ice rink in the city. He was also involved with the Colorado Ice Hockey Referees Association as a referee, mentor and scheduler.
Rodney touched so many hearts with his wit and friendliness whenever he was at the rink.
Rodney spent 33 years of his professional career at the University of Colorado Health Sciences.
He loved hunting and fishing, particularly with his father, later with his new baby Lacey. He also loved going to Disney World with his family.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the NHL’s Hockey Fights Cancer program: https://donate.v.org/give/527045/#!/donation/checkout
A Celebration of Life is being planned for later in the summer.
