Roger Bradford Obituary

Roger Charles Bradford passed away peacefully at Littleton Adventist Hospital, Littleton, Colorado, on September 30, 2019 at the age of 80.  He was born on April 22, 1939, in Yakima, Washington, to Charles and Lillian Bradford. He grew up in Yakima, Washington; lived for many years in Littleton, Colorado; and most recently lived in Anthem, Arizona, before having moved back to Colorado for care near his daughter.

His career in the insurance business began with Bankers Life and Casualty in the early 1960s. He went on to start Key Financial Group, Inc. in 1982, a family-operated insurance marketing company which he retired from in 2008.

One of his favorite hobbies was thoroughbred horse racing.  He owned many horses over the years. His favorite was "Tall InThe Saddle" named after a John Wayne movie.  He thoroughly enjoyed socializing and being around people. Friends and family knew him as a gambler who loved any sport you could handicap and place a bet on. In his younger years he snowmobiled, fished and traveled to many destinations. Somewhat of a scotch connoisseur, his order was always scotch (preferably Macallan) neat with a water back.

He will always be remembered for his inherent ability as a speaker, an attentive listener, and his quick wit.

Survived by his loving wife, Verla; son Greg (Krista) Bradford of Fort Mohave, Arizona; daughter Jenell (Leonard) Sobas of Littleton, Colorado; granddaughters, Lanae, Lauren, Samantha and Maloree; sisters Charlotte (Pete) Mackenzie of Yakima, Washington; and Pat (Bill) Gale of Vancouver, Washington; in-laws, nieces, nephews and a host of long-time friends.

Preceded in death by his first wife, Pauline; his parents and his brother Robert.

Dad, Grandpa, Roger was our hero and will be dearly missed.

According to Roger’s wishes, no service will be held.
