Roger Stene, 95, of Littleton Colorado, was called home to be with his Lord on December 24th, 2023, in his residence in Fort Worth, TX.
He was born on November 14th, 1928, to Sam and Cora Stene. Roger was drafted into the Army of the United States and was discharged with military honors.
He married the love of his life, Betty LaGrow, on August 28th, 1954 and had 2 children, Don Stene & Debbie Lutz. He worked several jobs throughout his life, noting most of his tenure at Tenneco Refinery and owning Alrite Scaffolding, where he retired.
Roger Stene (Most Illustrious Grand Master 2002-03) was first initiated in Arvada Lodge No. 141 on January 12,1977. He served and was involved in many side orders and honorary bodies of Freemasonry. He held some of the highest degrees and honors attainable. Roger had an undying love for the fraternity in all its iterations.
He was an outdoorsman and loved adventure. He made memories all over the world, with a special love for Alaska as he spent time working, fishing and hunting. He loved sharing his adventures with family and friends, where he told stories about all the history he experienced. Roger had a joke for every opportunity ready to go, and was known for his humor and conversation, he never met a stranger.
Roger is survived by daughter: Debbie Lutz and husband Bruce; grandchildren: Amanda Stene, Emma Allen and husband Luke, Autumn Claypool and husband Trevor, Cody Stene, Chelsea DeRamus and husband CJ; and great-grandchildren: Jackson, Noah, Leo, Savannah, Sophia, Elijah, & Charlie. He was preceded in death by his wife Betty Stene; his son: Don Stene and wife Cindy; all of his brothers and sisters: Luverne Stene, Adeline Benedict Volp, Sylvester "Bud" Stene, Elna Mathis Cole, & Glen Stene.
Visitation will be 4pm - 6pm on January 14th at Drinkwine Family Mortuary.
Funeral services will be held at 11am on January 15th at Drinkwine Family Mortuary. Graveside service will follow at Littleton Cemetery.
