Ronald Gardner Obituary

Ronald Edwin Gardner, age 83, of Castle Rock, passed away on July 31, 2024. He was born on May 8, 1941, in Tacoma, Washington, to Charles and Phyllis Gardner. Ron grew up with his sister Joyce (Gardner) Anderson.

In his younger years, he enjoyed running track and continued to excel in shot put and football during high school. Ron graduated from Lincoln High School in 1959 and furthered his education at the University of Puget Sound, where he was a member of the Air Force ROTC and Theta Chi Fraternity. He earned a Bachelor of Liberal Arts in Political Science. Ron briefly worked for Union Oil in Seattle, WA, before transitioning to Safeco Commercial Lines Insurance. His career took him to Spokane, WA, and back to Seattle, WA, before relocating to Lakewood, CO, in June 1990. On August 28, 1964, Ron married Cynthia Gale Spieth.

An avid skier, he served on the ski patrol at White Pass Ski Area. He also enjoyed golf, travel, bicycle riding, and sports cars, especially his Nissan Z’s. Ron had a deep appreciation for wine and cherished his time with family.

He is survived by his sister Joyce, partner Carole, as well as two nieces, four nephews, and many great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on October 5, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Plymouth Congregational Church, United Church of Christ, 3501 S Colorado Blvd, Englewood, CO 80113. The family extends their gratitude to all caregivers and friends for their support during this time.
