Ron was born the 25th of August 1953 in Syracuse, NY to parents James and Margaret Taylor. In 1971, he met the love of his life, Linda Flowers Taylor, while attending Henninger High School. Together they lived their best lives and recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with the renewal of their vows, on January 15th, 2022. For most of his life Ron and his beloved family resided in Liverpool, NY.
Mr. Taylor served honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He was stationed in Fort Benning, Georgia and Osan Air Base in South Korea.
After returning from his military service, Ron brought the same determination and work ethic as a machine repair tech at Oberdorfer Industries for 28 years. After Oberdorfer closed, he reinvented himself and pursued a career as a Computer Technician. In 2015, he retired from Seneca Data (Arrow). In retirement, he loved to fix and tinker, earning him the nickname “MrFixIt”. Other hobbies included grilling, photography and woodworking. He loved to build things especially toys for his grandchildren. Always up for an adventure, especially if it involved the outdoors, Ron and his beloved wife hit the open road traveling the United States to as many national parks as they could see. Most of all he loved showing others the natural world around them, through hiking, biking, kayaking, camping, climbing and driving. He was a communicant of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Liverpool, NY for many years and more recently St. Mary’s Church in Littleton, CO. Mr. Taylor was a member of the Cicero New York American Legion and volunteered as a driver for the North Area Meals on Wheels.
