Roy Edward Kannady Jr.

Roy Edward Kannady, Jr., aged 80 of Littleton, Colorado passed away peacefully on July 20, 2020 after a long battle with kidney cancer.  Roy was born on September 30th, 1939 in Shawnee, Oklahoma.  He graduated from Wilson High School, in Wilson Oklahoma in 1957 and from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in mechanical engineering in 1962. 

Roy and Anita Thomas married June 1, 1962 and then moved to Littleton, Colorado where Roy began a 40-year career as an engineer with Martin Marietta.  Roy was proud to have been part of the Viking Mars landers in the 1970's.

 Roy loved to travel and explore new places with his close friends.  It might have been a river trip in Europe or visiting a frontier fort with his Old Forts Club, Roy was passionate about travel and history. He and Anita volunteered many hours with the Friends of the Littleton Library and Museum.  Roy loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Roy is survived by his wife, Anita, sons Brian and Scott, daughter-in-law’s Becky and Tatiana, grandson Sam and granddaughter Katya.  He is also survived by Don, his brother in Pearland, Texas and three nephews, Kevin, Chad, and Chris and their families.
