Scott G. Leid
October 14, 1967 – October 3, 2020 (Age 52)
Scott Gregory Leid of Arvada passed away peacefully on October 3, 2020 at Lutheran Hospital’s Collier Hospice Center. Survived by his father Bob Leid, stepmother Diana Leid, older brother Kelly Leid, stepbrother Mark Plummer and stepsisters Dana Waters and Kristi Gahn, along with nieces Kori and Kale Gahn, Campbell Leid, and nephews Luke and Zach Plummer, and Brody Leid.
Scott was born in Arvada, the son of Bob and Jackie Leid. He spent his childhood getting into plenty of harmless mischief playing in Ralston Creek, the family’s small farm, and then his middle and high school years in the Pond community.
Scott graduated from Pomona High School (Arvada, CO), Class of 1986.
He loved the game of football and was blessed with God-given talent to play through college. First at Phoenix Junior College, then Colorado State and closing out his football career at the University of Northern Colorado. Following football, Scott worked in a series of sales positions, finding his calling in automotive sales.
Scott had a big heart with a larger-than-life personality. He loved dogs and always seemed to have a sidekick. As a child it was Mitzie, the family pug, who would wait for Scott at the school bus stop. In college it was Butkus, his crazy bulldog who ended up in this UNC football team picture, and most recently Jack, his gentle giant Saint Bernard, who gave Scott great comfort.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday October 31, 2020 at Drinkwine Family Chapel beginning at 11:30 A.M. Due to COVID-19 we are limiting the event to close friends and family members and we ask all attendees to follow CDC and state guidelines, which will include wearing masks.
Our family is also coordinating a park bench dedication at an Arvada park in Scott’s honor before the end of the year. We will provide additional information on the date and time as it becomes available.
