With profound sadness, we announce the sudden passing of our beloved son, Sean Derrick Youngman, on February 13, 2025 at the age of 42 in Englewood, Colorado. Sean was a cherished member of our family, known for his kindness, compassion, humor, and generosity. In keeping with Sean's loving and generous spirit, he donated life so that others may live. Born in Cheyenne, Wyoming on February 15, 1982, he relocated with his parents, Jan and Greg, to Spokane, Washington where he enjoyed life for the next 30 plus years before coming to Colorado in late 2014. He attended Mead Jr High and Shadle Park High School, class of 2000. He was active in Cub and Boy Scouts, and competed for the Whitworth Swim Team as well as enjoyed many years playing baseball and soccer through Spokane Youth Sports. One of his greatest achievement while a teen was completing a 21 day wilderness adventure with Outward Bound in the Sierra Mountains. He was the youngest in his group at 14 years old, and there were several teens who did not complete this arduous and challenging "pack it in and pack it out, leave no trace" adventure. He leaves behind a legacy of love, frequently being a companion and caregiver for Grandma Margaret. Sean will be deeply missed by her, plus his bonus grandparents Dean and Sandie Schiernbeck and his parents, Jan and Todd Schiernbeck. He leaves behind 6 children: Makayla, Karissa, Caitlynn, Sean Jr, Caleb, and Kason Paul. Numerous cousins, aunts and uncles. Many, many friends. Sean was preceded in death by his younger brother, Nicholas Paul, his father Greg, and his grandparents James and Judy McIntosh and Ray and Maymie Youngman. A celebration of his life will be held in July 2025 at a location in Spokane, Washington. We will update specifics privately when the time is nearer.
