Stephen Peter Pasztor, 90, of Littleton, passed away peacefully on June 9, 2019, with his family around him. Steve was born in 1928 to Andro Pasztor and his wife Barbara (Kortesz) Pasztor, in East Chicago, Indiana. He and his identical twin brother, James, were the youngest of six children. After graduating from Roosevelt High School, Steve attended the American Conservatory in Chicago, where he earned Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Music. He won a position as a clarinettist in the Denver Symphony Orchestra and moved to Colorado. Steve was a member of the orchestra for 29 years, 1955 - 1984. During that time he also served as shop steward for the Denver Musician's Association. He also ran and performed in a woodwind quintet, The Denver Woodwinds. Steve also played in the orchestras of the Central City Opera, the Jackson Hole Festival, and the Denver Municipal Band. He also taught clarinet privately in Denver for many years. After his retirement from the DSO, he became a licensed hearing aid dispenser in the Denver and Colorado Springs area.
Steve met his wife, Louise Marie (Halasz) in Denver; they married in 1960 , and had two children: Peter and Suzanne. They all survive Steve and miss him deeply. He was a wonderful husband and father.
A memorial mass and celebration of Steve's life will be held at Drinkwine Mortuary on Saturday, June 29, 2019, at 11am.
