Susan Curtis, 75, passed away peacefully on November 18, 2025. She was born on April 4, 1950, in Roanoke, Virginia, to Arthur and Elaine Beyer. Susan spent most of her life in Littleton, Colorado, where she built a warm and loving home grounded in family, community, and a deep appreciation for the natural world.
Susan married the love of her life, Jim Curtis, and together they shared 47 years of devotion, partnership, and joy. She was a cherished mother to her two children, Kristi Curtis and Art Curtis, who were the pride of her life. Susan is also survived by her two sisters, Kathy Beyer and Marie Nelken, with whom she shared lifelong bonds of love and friendship.
A passionate gardener and enthusiastic traveler, Susan found joy in exploring the outdoors. She especially treasured visiting national parks, hiking mountain trails, and tending to her backyard garden. Susan also loved volunteering at Chatfield Botanical Gardens, where she shared her knowledge, warmth, and enthusiasm for plants with visitors and fellow volunteers. Her love for animals was evident to all who knew her, and she had a special place in her heart for her beloved dog, Marley.
Susan’s gentle spirit, curiosity for the world, and unwavering kindness touched the lives of many. She will be deeply missed by family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
