Susanne Wright (Susie), 88, of Littleton Colorado, passed away November 23, 2019.
She was the only child of the late Edwin and Ruth Hoffman, born in Lincoln, Nebraska. Susie graduated from Lincoln High School in 1949 and attended the University of Nebraska Teachers College from 1949 to 1951.
She married Sidney Wright in October 1951 and they moved to Long Island, New York where Sid had taken a job with Sperry Gyroscope. Susie worked at a local hospital, bank and at Sperry while they were in New York, but her most important job began in 1961 when she became a mother. Susie and Sid lived in New York for 12 years until 1963, when they relocated to Littleton, Colorado.
Susie is survived by her loving husband, Sid and two children: Glenn Wright (Lori) of Yuma, Arizona, and Patricia Fairbanks (Jeff) of Evergreen, Colorado. She had five grandchildren: Stacy Sample (Josh) of New Bern, North Carolina, Lance Wright (Tanya) of Buckeye, Arizona, Christiana Wright of Mesa, Arizona, and Sidney and Jack Fairbanks, both of Evergreen, Colorado. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren. She was loved by many.
Susie loved people. She saw people’s needs and she met them, with words of encouragement, and/or acts of compassion. She opened herself to people, regardless of age or social position. She also loved animals. Susie was kind, and she had a sassy sense of humor. She enjoyed dressing up for a formal dinner or dance and she enjoyed camping in the Colorado mountains. She loved her home and she liked to see new places. She loved movies and skating, roller coasters, ice cream and antiques.
Viewing ceremony will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at St. James Presbyterian Church in Littleton, followed by the funeral service at 11:00. A reception will follow. The family asks that memorial donations be given to Shriner’s Hospital for Children.
