Thomas Lee Alfred Jackson, of Indian Hills, Colorado passed away peacefully surrounded by his children on September 3, 2020.
Tom was born in 1946 in Ironwood, Michigan to Alfred and Ruth Jackson. With his brother John, the family moved to La Junta, Colorado in 1958 for a fresh start in the trailer construction industry. The family then moved to Golden, Colorado, where Tom attended the Colorado school of Mines, later transferring to the University of Colorado, where he met Nancy Fischer. Nancy and Tom married in 1969 and had three children, Daniel, Andrew and Sara.
Tom and Nancy raised their children in Aurora, Colorado, where Tom started a structural Engineering firm, Jackson Engineers, a company he ran until his untimely death.
After 29 years, Tom and Nancy divorced. He met Maureen McHugh and they married in 2002 and lived very happily for many years in Englewood and then Indian Hills, until she succumbed to cancer in 2016. He was a father to her son Sean, and their family was welcomed into the Jackson clan.
Tom was a generous, kind man, who gave his time, energy and resources to many people, without ever thinking twice about it. He was always there when you needed him. Tom was a talented guitar player, having picked up the instrument as a teenager and never letting go. He loved playing for others, and his original songs were welcome fixtures at every family gathering. He will be greatly missed- a funny, sarcastic, yet strong presence in everyone's life.
Tom is survived by his children, Daniel, Andrew and Sara, their spouses Amelia and Noah, his grandchildren Meyer, Evelyn and Ruth, his step son Sean and his wife Amy, their children Piper and Tegan, and his ex-wife, Nancy Jackson.
