Timothy J. McMillon, a lifelong hippie, passionate musician, and devoted seeker of information, was born on July 5, 1948, in Littleton, Colorado, and passed away on January 21, 2025, in Wheatridge, Colorado, after a long battle with illness. Timothy is survived by his daughter, Jerico McMillon; his sister, Alice Risley; and his brother, Richard McMillon. He was preceded in death by his mother, Althea McMillon; his father, Ace McMillon; his sister, LaRae Bodensieck; and his brother, Michael McMillon. He is also fondly remembered for the three loves of his life Ellie Hiatt, Belinda Renegar, and Georgeanne Lazanas, each of whom left an indelible mark on his life.
Timothy’s life was defined by his boundless curiosity and love for adventure. Whether riding his motorcycle or cheering on his beloved Broncos, he embraced life with the same vigorous spirit he brought to every aspect of his journey.
A lifetime drummer and a relentless seeker of musical knowledge, Timothy had an encyclopedic curiosity about music. He delighted in researching facts and sharing discoveries with anyone who would listen. One of his early proud achievements came in 1968 when, as a member of the band Pure Sound, he recorded a 45-rpm single—a milestone that marked his enduring contribution to music, a memory he cherished throughout his life. In 1984, Timothy graduated with his BA in Psychology, and this achievement was evidence of his tenacious appetite for knowledge.
Perhaps one of Timothy’s most transformative experiences occurred in 1979 when he was saved by Jesus Christ at a place called Lost and Found. This spiritual awakening remains one of his treasured memories, and he often recalled that on the very grounds of Lost and Found he discovered profound internal peace, and he prayed these grounds would be his final resting place.
Timothy’s legacy is one of fearless exploration, heartfelt music, and a deeply personal journey of faith. His love for his daughter, his music, and his many adventures will continue to inspire those who knew him. He will be remembered not only for the beats he drummed and the paths he crossed, but also for the wisdom he shared and the spirit of a hippie that inspired all who knew him. May his memory be heard in every echo of a drumbeat. He will be dearly missed, and his memory will live on in every beat played, and every story shared.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 28, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Drinkwine Family Chapel.
