Victoria Peterson Obituary

Vickie Peterson, Littleton, CO. November 26, 1940 – February 8th, 2025.

Victoria “Vickie” Peterson, of Larned, Kansas, gained her angel wings on February 8th, 2025, at the age of 84, where she passed peacefully at her home, surrounded by her husband and kids.

Vickie grew up in Larned Kansas and cherished the small-town life. She was known for her adventurous spirit, often drag-racing other kids in town down main street, winning more than her fair share of races (she had a lead foot)! After graduating from Larned High School and Wichita Business College, she met the love of her life, Conrad “Pete” Peterson.

They married in December 1962 and spent several years in Hays, Kansas, before settling in Littleton, Colorado, in 1972. There, they raised their three children and later found immense joy in spoiling their three grandchildren. They recently celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary.

Vickie had a passion for traveling and loved visiting new places, especially cruising! She was competitive by nature and enjoyed bowling, golf, and bridge. She played in a women’s golf league for many years and was part of several bridge groups. When she wasn’t playing bridge with friends, she would challenge herself to games of solitaire or bridge. She absolutely loved playing cards! She was also a devoted Denver Broncos fan, proudly wearing her Broncos gear throughout the year
win or lose and never missed a game!

Through the years, Vickie held various jobs, including working as a secretary and sales associate at a clothing department store. However, her most cherished role was being a loving wife, nurturing mom, and the most kindhearted grandma. She retired when her grandchildren arrived, embracing the opportunity to stay home and watch them grow. Family was her greatest joy, and she was the heart of every gathering, talented cook, a wonderful party planner, and the glue that held her family together. She lived her life to the fullest, embracing each day with honesty, love, thoughtfulness and compassion which she has passed down to her kids and grandkids.

Vickie is survived by her husband, Pete; her children, Kristie Peterson, Tim Peterson, and Becky (Scot) Moon; Brother, Bill (Treva) Johnson, and her grandchildren, Ashley (Cameron) Bartelson, Tanner (Payje) Moon, Andre Rockett, and many nieces and nephews. Vickie was greeted in Heaven by her parents Virginia and Bill Johnson and other relatives.

The family is planning a celebration of life for later this year to be hosted at Vickie’s home. Details will be shared when available.
