Virginia Marie Ritter, 88, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on July 6, 1937, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Ardele and Alfred Grant, Virginia grew up with strong family values that would remain at the center of her life. In 1954, she and her family moved to Englewood, Colorado, where she graduated from Englewood High School in 1955.
While working at Myers Drug Store in Englewood, Virginia met the love of her life, Gene Ritter. The two were married on October 6, 1956, and together built a beautiful life centered around faith, family, and hard work. They raised four children, and Virginia devoted herself to being a caring mother and grandmother.
Virginia worked at All Souls School cafeteria before becoming a deli manager at Kmart. Later, she and Gene proudly owned and operated P&R Cleaning, a family business that employed their children, many friends, and countless grandchildren. This opportunity allowed her to do what she loved most-spending time with her family.
Family was Virginia's greatest joy. She was known for her generosity, her warm heart, and her kitchen that was always open. No one ever left her home hungry, and her love and care extended to all who knew her. She is survived by her children Rick Ritter (Peggy), Teri Anderson (Arvid), and Randy Ritter (Alison); her brother Bob Grant; 14 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
Virginia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gene Ritter; her daughter, Jeannie Dreiling who was married to Carl; her grandson, Ricky Ritter; and her brother, Larry Grant.
Virginia's legacy of love, hard work, and devotion to family will live on in the many lives she touched.
A visitation will take place 4-6 PM with a Rosary at 6 PM on Monday, October 6, 2025 at Drinkwine Family Mortuary. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at St. Louis Catholic Church, Englewood. Virginia will be laid to rest with her husband Gene at Ft. Logan National Cemetery.
