Wilbur Lindenmuth Obituary

Wilbur W. (Lindy) Lindenmuth died of natural causes on June 6, 2020. He was 91. He was born August 28,1928 in Nuremberg, Pennsylvania, the son of Ellsworth and Maude Lindenmuth. After graduating from Black Creek High School in Fern Glen, PA, Class of 1947, Lindy served in the US Army 2nd Infantry Division in Korea from 1950-1953, where he was the recipient of two Bronze Stars for heroic and meritorious achievement. After his service in the war, he married Mary A. Vitale from Short Hill, NJ. They were married for 67 years. Lindy worked for General Motors Corporation for 37 years in New Jersey, Michigan and Colorado, retiring in 1991. Lindy loved to tell jokes and he had many "Lindyisams" along with being a huge Denver Broncos fan!

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his beloved son Christopher in 2010, sisters Miriam, Dorothy, twins Loraine and Lucile and one brother Leonard, who was a veteran of WWII and in the same infantry division as Lindy. He is survived by he beloved wife Mary (Vitale) Lindenmuth ; brother Emerson Lindenmuth of Nuremberg, PA, who was also in the military as a Honor Guard; his daughters Alicia Petoia Carlson and Carmel Weiss and husband Jim of Centennial, CO; his son Mark Lindenmuth of Grapevine, TX; 10 grandchildren, Richard, Danielle, Vanessa, Victoria, Brian, Christopher, Alexander, Anastazia, Julie and David; and twelve great grandchildren, Antonio, Giavonna, Dominic, Avi, Tovah, Caedence, Daniel Jr, Wyatt, Olivia, Landen, Lilly, Asher; his brother and sister-in-law Vite and Linda Vitale of Albion, ME; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Service of Remembrance with Military Honors will be held at Ft. Logan National Cemetery on Thursday, June 18th, where he will be laid to rest next to his son, Christopher.
