Welcome to the memorial page for

Bowina Ann Burback

October 14, 1961 ~ September 28, 2015 (age 53) 53 Years Old

Bowina Burback, 53, passed from this world in the early morning hours on September 28, 2015. She is survived by her husband of 17 years, Peter Burback and her 3 sons Jacob, Leon and James. She is also survived by her grandchildren Aleah, Alexis, Alexander and Londyn, her father Jerry, sister Sedonia and Brother Andamo, friends, cousins, nieces and nephews.  Bowina is reunited with her son Alexander and mother Gaydeen in the splendor of heaven.

Bowina was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She took pride in her family and made them the center of her life.  Being a grandmother was Bowina’s shining light through the last few years.   She was an inspiration to all those who knew her and were lucky enough to be a part of her life.  Bowina was a champion of family values and set the example of what a family matriarch should be. Bowina will be missed by the many lives she touched.

Bowina graduated from Questa High School in New Mexico in 1979.  Bo earned multiple Associates Degrees through her adult life.  While taking care of her family, Bowina worked hard in her ever growing career in Telecommunications since 1981. She has received various awards and was recognized on numerous occasions for her dedication to excellence.

In her 53 years of existence, Bo traveled the world and befriended many people. You would be hard pressed to find anyone who was not inspired by her in some way.   Bowina’s family vacations around the country gave her many happy memories throughout the years.  Bo had an infectious laugh and the ability to light up a room as soon as she entered.  She cared very deeply for humanity and was there for anyone who needed a shoulder to cry on.  When someone felt pain or hurt in their heart, she felt it along with them.  Bo would open her home to anyone and holidays were always a full house of love and celebration.

Services will be on Wednesday, September 30th at Drinkwine Family Mortuary.  Viewing will be from 2:00-3:00 pm and service will be from 3:00-4:00pm.

A quote from a poem by Donna Fargo:

“Soar with the eagles today.  Let your spirit take you high.  Face any hills or mountains with a victorious attitude…without worry, without dread.  Let go of any troubles you have.  See yourself released, free, running in the meadow of life, like a little child.  Visualize doors opening….being embraced by everyone.”

Life will shine, but it will not shine as bright without our beloved Bo.
