LaDora has been my friend since 1978 when we worked together at a law firm. When I was there, we got together for lunch nearly every day. After I left that firm, we still got together for lunch or dinners. We went out with LaDora and John for dinner a few times. One year, she came with me when my children were little to take them trick or treating. She came to our Kentucky Derby parties and brought us a set of Derby glasses she found at a garage sale that I still cherish. LaDora was a fun companion with a nice sense of humor and a great laugh. She spoke frequently of her family - her sister, her children and her grandchildren and I know she was proud of all of them.

Loved working with LaDora within the Columbine West Civic Association. She always had such great insight and a shining spirit. I admired her tenancy in delivering newsletters in the neighborhood, unless it was bad weather. She walked to the pool pavilion for monthly meetings and always beamed from within. Missing you as a neighbor, knowing you are being held in an everlasting warm embrace. With love.

So sorry to hear of LaDora's passing. The Stowe family (my family) were neighbors of her family (the Ensleys) in Nebraska in the 1930's and I have many fond memories of that period of our lives. She and my older sister Eleanor kept in touch over the years. I never saw LaDora after we moved from Nebraska but in later years we kept in touch at Christmas and emailed back and forth--we shared February birthdays and remembrances of times past.
