I was a first grade teacher at Franklin for many years and taught right next door to Jan. I so enjoyed her smile and cheerful ways whenever we talked. She was an encouragement to me whenever I spoke to her about her former little ones. I know how many lives she touched, both teachers and our kids, over her years at our school. God bless you all and keep you close during this sad time.

Jon and Dave,
I am so sorry to hear of your Moms passing. Since we moved back to Littleton in 1997, I would occasionally see your folks. Once, while parking my car in front of your house so I could watch the Liberty Belle cross country race, I noticed that your parents were on their lawn chairs in front of your house (with the dogs, of course) watching it also. I couldn't help myself and had to say hello to them. I told them who I was and we had a nice conversation. I got to catch up on you and your family. They were both so proud of their children and grandchildren.
I again saw your Mom a couple of years ago at the post office. We had such a nice conversation. She was such a beautiful lady. My sincere condolences to you all. I am sure that Meadowbrook Road will miss them dearly. Love to you all,
Mary

Jan truly is an angel. She helped in my classroom for several years and was always a bright spot in the day for all of us. We dedicated the bench at Franklin Elementary to her- she was such an inspiration to me and the children!
God bless and keep her. I will always remember her!

With love,
Linda Steck Pearlman

jan and i worked together at franklin and did water arobics at Goodson and had many lunches together. We solved the problems of the world in our words and thoughts and took comfort in our friendship. I am sorry I will not be in town to attend, but have been in California for the last 8 months. David was Nicholas

Janet was the rock that anchored our little corner of the neighborhood. She taught me how to be a joyful mother and a kind person. Her light lives on in the many lives she touched.

I am so sad to hear about dear Janet.

I lived across the road from her my whole childhood, and though we were of no blood relation, she treated me like another one of her grandchildren (whom she all loved dearly). As a kid, I would spend endless hours raising a ruckus in her back yard, with her dogs as playmates, and she took it all in stride and with her characteristic kindness and compassion.

My utmost condolences to the family and friends of Janet. She was well-loved and will be missed.

My thoughts are with you,

-- Sarah
