I am so very sorry for your loss, just learned of Karalee's passing. I am deeply saddened by this. The influence Karalee had on my life and those of my family including my three children (Amanda, Amber & Tim) of whom Mrs. Schafer was their first teacher, will never be forgotten. One daughter is a teacher because of Mrs. Schafer. Knowing Karalee is no longer here hurts my heart, as I know it hurts yours. God Bless each of you.

Karalee was a teaching colleague, a mentor and a friend for many years. We shared teaching children both at Field and East and spent many a lunch sharing stories of our growing grandchildren. I will miss her energy, smile, and her loving spirit. We were all blessed to have her in our lives. My heart goes out to her family for the loss of this beautiful woman.

JD, Anne, Joe, Jim, John, Molly, Sarah, and all of Karalee's family and friends, I'm so sorry for your loss. She was such a loving and and generous woman, and fun, too. The world is a better place because of her and all she did for so many people (including myself).

Karalee was so welcoming to me whenever I came to visit her with Ashley. Always making food, chatting, and playing card games with us. It was easy to see how loving a person she was. I give my deepest condolences to your family.

Karalee was so passionate about her work with children. After her retirement she never left East elementary as she mentored at least 2 children each year and would spend time in the younger classrooms reading to children. She always had the biggest smile on her face. She would sometimes come in to my office to talk and it was mostly to brag about her grandchildren. She loved her family. My deepest sympathy to the family. She will be missed here at East dearly.

Karalee was very special to me. As a first year teacher at Field Elementary, Karalee was my teammate and mentor. She was patient and kind with me and taught me many things. Karalee attended my wedding out of town and was always happy for my personal celebrations. Recently, she mentored one of my first grade students who needs a little extra help and tender loving care. She will be missed by many. She led an admirable life and set a wonderful example of how important it is to give of yourself with others. I'm heartbroken by her loss and will miss her a great deal.

I was not privileged enough to know Karalee that well, but if she is anything like all her siblings and parents she was a compassionate and caring person who loved life and all that it held. I am sure that not only her family but all the people who knew and loved her and her vitality for life will miss her dearly. I am so sorry for your loss. May God Bless your family as you got hrough this journey. Bev & Rich McNiff (second cousin)
