Bruce and Wendy
Martha and Harry were my dear friends and co-workers for many years at CA. I will always remember Martha's unfailing smile and willingness to help all of us who came to her desk in Upper School, whatever the request. She and Harry were the "best of the best"!

26 years ago I moved from Boston to Colorado and I cold-called Colorado Academy looking for a teaching job. Martha answered the phone and I said to her, "I'll be moving to Colorado, I'm a teacher, and I'm looking for a job." She replied, "I think there may be a 5th grade position opening up. Let me put you through to Tom Fitzgerald, the lower school principal." I was hired by Tom and have been teaching at CA ever since. As soon as school started that fall, I went over and introduced myself to Martha and she remembered my call. Martha was a kind and gentle woman, and I think about her at the start of each school year.

Martha was a very special lady. Her presence has been missed at Colorado Academy for many years. She and Harry were a wonderful team that brightened our days on a regular basis. They are now celebrating their reunion once again.

It was always wonderful to see Martha with her cheerful greeting and smiling face. While I know she will be missed she will certainly brighten the gates of heaven with her smile and welcoming words.

Dear Bruce and Wendy:
how sad it is to hear about your mom. Her smiling face and unfailing good humor greeted so many students and teachers alike at the front desk of C.A. She, like your dad, was a fixture that was so admired by us all. She will be missed and her spirit and affection she had for all of us will long be remembered by the Colorado Academy community. I will keep her in my thoughts and prayers.
with love, Tom Fitzgerald

They were wonderful neighbors ( on Dartmouth), so fun to visit with both of them. Remember watching fireworks with them in the circle at the end of the street, in front of our house. Many brought their lawn chairs, we could see Coors, Pinehurst, Bandimere displays, all we had to do was turn our chairs in the direction of the showws
