Welcome to the memorial page for

Mary R. Koziol

December 8, 1927 ~ November 24, 2016 (age 88) 88 Years Old

Mary R. Koziol - At Rest 11/24/16

Born in Chicago and moved to Colorado in 1996 to be reunited with her family: Kay, her eldest daughter and beloved granddaughters Jessica, Katie and Kristin Hazlett.

May, as her friends called her, retired from a Chicago law firm Winston and Strawn in 1992 to a more beautifully scenic place of peace and tranquility.

She was the daughter of the late Mary Ann and Felix Reilly, her late sisters Harriet (Anulewicz) and Dorothy (Dronski) and brother Alex Stachurski; her fond brothers and sisters-in-law Julius and Marilyn (Cyborn)(d), Joseph and Florence (Belczak)(d), Frank and Evelyn (Ochab)(d), Edwin(d) and Barbara (Sowa), Marion(d) and Barbara (Ziaja), Al and Barbara(d)(Hendrickson), Alphonse(d) and Loretta (Lang), and Stanley Koziol. May is survived by so many wonderful nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews.

May's strong and melodious saprano voice graced the St. Cecelia Choir for 50 years at St. Stanislaus B&M Parish in NW Chicago. She and dad also sang with the St. Catherine - St. Lucy's Choir in Oak Park and traveled to Europe in 1977 with the Oak Park Symphony Chorus and Concert Chorale. She was a secretary and organizer of many events, an avid reader, a lover of the Arts, a devoted wife and mother - a kind and generous soul who knew no boundaries in her compassion to others. She was a small but mighty force of which to be reckoned and through all of life's curve balls, she was a champion and loving matriarch to friends and family.

In December of this year, Mom would have been 89 years on this Earth.

We love you and wish you a peaceful Journey as we say:  Farewell and God Bless You!

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday at 11AM at Drinkwine Family Chapel; interment to follow to Fort Logan National Cemetery, Staging Area B at 12:30PM.
