United in prayer as you mourn the loss of your loved one. Pilar was a gift to St Joseph School in Petersburg. She captured our mission and was a wonderful role odes to our students. On sympathy. Sister Claire Debes

To Pilar's children and grandchildren: We were part of Pilar and Bill's life while they were in Petersburg, Virginia. Pilar taught our boys at St. Joseph's, and we quickly became family friends! The legacy that both Bill and now Pilar leave you with is one of love, grace and dignity. One that, we are sure, you are proud to carry on! Anyone who knew them felt the grace that they were blessed with, the love that they shared so willingly, and the heart that was always open. We were blessed to call them friends - and our lives were enriched by knowing them. Peace be with you all, as you mourn the passing and celebrate the life that she lived, the memories she helped make - and the joy she had for everyone she met.

I just don't know quite what to say... I owe her so very much. She hired me when I was not in a good place in my life. She believed in me and she was so very kind and supportive of me. She gave me confidence in myself and she taught my boys so much about God and a relationship with Jesus. I owe her very much. My regret is that I never connected with her more after she retired. I will always hold her and Bill in my prayers. It is everyone's dream to have a relationship with Jesus like she did. I owe her so much for being supportive of me and my boys. God rest her soul and may God's ever shining light shine on her and the love of her life Deacon Bill. I love you Pilar and wish you only happiness and love with our Lord and Savior... Jesus Christ. Love and peaces to you Maria del PIlar. She taught me so much, Roxanne Martinez
