To Alice and Family,
I met Rush briefly around 2000 through the Colorado Parks and Recreation Association. Rush helped us with some project issues, providing needed information with the same big smile I see in his pictures here. I hadn't seen Rush in over 10 years and found out last night of his passing.
He was one of those people you only have to meet once to know how good a person he was, and even though you and your family had the good fortune of knowing and living that, I felt I needed to let you know how I felt.
My best to you all.

I was so saddened today when I learned of Rush's passing. I just happened to call Hyland Hills office's, and Nicole informed me. I don't know if you remember me, I worked with Rush for quite a while at Hyland Hills. I always admired him, not only for his many talents, and his love for all of you, but for the way he always treated people with great respect and fairness. We had a lot of laughs thru out our friendship. I will truly miss him.

Alice and family! I am so very sorry! I'm shocked and saddened. I just saw Rushs' obituary in the Post. Ironically, OR NOT, you both just came to mind the other day. Now I know why, I enjoyed you and Rush very much. A beautiful love you shared was so obvious by just spending any time with you. May you continue to feel his loving arm around you ALWAYS and may you know the joy and love you brought him. The two of you had SOMETHING AMAZING! I'm grateful I knew you and Rush. I'm thinking of you all and sending my love and sympathy ❤💕🌺

Our Deepest Condolences, to the Rush Calkins Family.
I meet, Rush 16years ago. Rush & his office, Witnessed a Terrifying Accident in Front of his building at the Hyland Hill's Recreation shop. In witch my Daughter Whitnie passed. Rush, gave me the Wood to Make a Cross. That is still There & I Maintain. I spoke to Rush a couple of weeks before his Passing. Am Saddened of his Passing. Amen & God Bless.

I worked with Rush for 16 years as we coordinated Community Pride Day together. What a wonderful, friendly, compassionate man! I appreciated his helpfulness, kindness, and ready laugh. My sincere sympathy to the Calkins family during this difficult time. Rush will be missed by everyone who have the privilege to know him.

Aunt Alice, Lisa, Jessi, Sarah, Spencer and your families I am so very sorry for your loss! Uncle Rush was one of the best men I have ever known. I have many fond memories of him that I will hold on to. One of my favorite memories is, he always brought the biggest and best fireworks, because he wanted to make sure all the kids had a great time! There was just something about him that all us kids loved, maybe because he was always so nice to us, or maybe it was because he just loved to be a big kid himself. Thank you for sharing him with all of us! I know you're hurting deeply right now, but I hope one day you can find peace in all of your memories. I love you all!
