I remember your dad as a very cheerful man who liked to sing along with the Carol King album of our youth! Smack Water jack, was a favorite. He was an overcomer in life. A good man.

Dear Ann and Rick and the entire Barrett family,
We were neighbors of Ann and Rick and Tom and Laura. Tom helped host the first Spaghetti Eddie dinners at Our Lady of Loreto and Tom and Laura enjoyed a few dinners and gatherings when my parents were in town visiting from NJ. He will be missed - but God has smiled upon him in death and will cradle him through eternal life. Blessings to all - especially to Laura.

So sorry to hear about Tom's passing. A true blessing he went peacefully in his sleep. I will always remember him with an incredible sense of humor and a true mentor to his Family. He loved to be around the younger kids and just really enjoy everyone's company.

We were sorry to hear of Uncle Tom's passing, though when we think of him a smile comes to our faces. Mike said, " in his 25 years of playing softball he never had an umpire sit in a lawn chair, smoking a cigar, while calling the game." That happened at the 1995 Acker family reunion and Mike said, when he'd come up to bat, he'd turn and look at Uncle Tom, who would be sitting there with a big smile on his face and would say "batter up". What a character!!! May the good memories comfort you at this time. God bless you all.
