Brian & family,
My heartfelt sympathy for the loss of Lanny. I was so glad he took the time to come see me in his last days. It was wonderful to spend time reminiscing with him about Gary and updating me on all that was new in his life. He was a courageous man with so much love & life in him. Love to all of you.

I am so very sad to hear of the passing of Lanny. My deepest and heartfelt sympathy goes out to his family from me and all of the Rakiecki Family. We all have so many happy memories with Lanny in Kane, Pennsylvania. Both sets of his grandparents were our neighbors so he has been a fixture in our lives. Many a football was tossed in our back yard with him and my brothers. He was so special and I was so happy to re-connect with him late last year. Much love comes to you all.

Lanny was a sweet man.  He always had a positive air about him.  We enjoyed his stay at the DA's Office and will miss him.

Lanny was a dear friend for whom I had the pleasure of knowing for 20 years.  Having worked for him for 13 years at Rothgerber Johnson & Lyons, I found him to be a brilliant, ethical and outstanding attorney.  He was also a faithful and loyal friend.  I will miss our daily phone calls and our visits.  I am grateful to have been able to be with him right up to his transition to heaven.  To Lanny's family, I am so sorry for your loss.  Be comforted in knowing that Lanny no longer suffers and that some day we will meet him again.  You are in my thoughts and prayers.

I worked with Lanny for nine years during which our company went through difficult times. He was a truly great resource for us and a genuinely friendly and popular guy. I also learned he was tough when he needed to be. He regaled me with tales of his litigation for Lloyds of London, to my great enjoyment. We didn't work together his last few years for a number of reasons, but I will always be glad I spoke to him a week before he died. He sounded like the same guy I had always known, despite his serious situation. I will miss the sound of his voice and his common sense. Fare Well, Lanny, it will be a shorter time than we likely imagine before each of us join you. You were a fine man and a fine lawyer.

Lanny:  I'm so sorry that you were so very sick, and that you have passed.  While it has been such a long time since I worked with you at Rothgerber, I still remember some very fun times and how much respect I had for you.  Knowing you, will always be a very special memory for me. God speed your journey.
