Edmund "Ted" Hugh Waller

December 27, 1929 ~ September 25, 2014 (age 84) 84 Years Old

Edmund “Ted” Hugh Waller passed away peacefully into the arms of the Lord while surrounded by his family on Thursday, September 25, 2014, at the age of 84. Ted was born December 27, 1929, in Huntington Park, California, to Hans and Mildred (Pennock) Waller. After graduating high school he attended Mesa State College in Grand Junction, Colorado, followed by the University of Denver and Oklahoma State University. In 1951, Ted married the love of his life, Barbara Yetter. He joined the Armed Forces and together they relocated to Fort Walton, Florida, where Ted was stationed at Eglin Air Force Base. In 1954, Ted and Barbara moved to Denver where Ted was employed by Public Service Company of Colorado, retiring after 37 years. From 1988 to 2012, he volunteered at West Metro Fire Department, serving as a Civil Service Board Member, later becoming a West Metro Fire Department Board Member. His passion for the fire department led him to serve 24 years. Ted was an avid home- team sports fan. He loved watching and rooting for the Denver Broncos and Colorado Rockies. He also loved camping and boating at Lake Granby with his family. Ted was a “jack of all trades” and enjoyed repairing and refurbishing things in and around the house and yard, along with auto repair. His lawn was always immaculate. Ted enjoyed cooking and his skills were unparalleled. He was instrumental in the construction of the Southwest Denver Little League Baseball Fields. Ted was preceded in death by his parents, Hans and Mildred Waller. He is survived by Barbara, his loving, caring, and dedicated wife of 64 years; his sister Patricia Klingman (Vern); daughter Wendy Volmer (Larry); son Ken Waller (Karen); grandchildren David Todd, Mike Todd (Molly), Dani McCann (Trent), Joe Todd (Jessica), Tyler Waller (Shae); step grandchildren Heath Volmer (Heather), Bill Volmer; great-grandchildren Kylie McCann and Chloe Todd; step great-grandchild Marine CPL.
