Kenneth Carl Hoffman

April 27, 1923 ~ August 16, 2015 (age 92) 92 Years Old

Kenneth C. Hoffman was 92 when he passed away Sunday August 16, 2015 of heart failure.  He was a World War II Marine Corp veteran who served his country when he was 18 years old.  He was born in North Braddock, Pennsylvania; son to Carl Preston Hoffman and Lillian Hunter Hoffman, and a brother to David and Jeanne.  He worked in a butcher shop from the age of 12 to help support his family during the Depression.  After his military discharge he became a journeyman patternmaker for the auto industry and eventually a teacher and educator in the drafting program at the local community college in Sterling Hts., Michigan.  He and Marcella Sedlar Hoffman were married for nearly 60 years.  She passed on February 6, 2006 after a long illness.  They are survived by 3 daughters, Gerry Zombo, Barbara Levitt, and Terry Hoffman; 9 grandchildren, Frank, Paul, Ken, and Michael Zombo, Josh, Nicole, and Erin Levitt, Justin and Ryan Mette; 9 great-grandchildren, Frank, Jr and Zachary Zombo, Jazlyn Zombo, Zhanna Zombo Nash, Madeline and Sophia Levitt, Olivia Mette, Lola and Liv Sacco; and 3 great-great-grandchildren Kelo, Norah, and Braden.
Ken lived a quiet life with his wife Marcie.  He was generous with his time, knowledge, and experience.  He loved his family and made sure that he took care of anyone he could.  Kenneth followed his mother’s example set from childhood.  She fed anyone who was hungry a sandwich and cup of tea during the Depression.
Ken loved baseball and all sports.  He watched his last Rockies game on Friday night before he died.  He was a great fan.
He will be laid to rest Tuesday @ 11:15 a.m. at Ft. Logan National Cemetery along with his wife Marcie.  They will be together forever.

Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project and The Colorado Food Bank.
