Welcome to the memorial page for

Patricia Joanne Kuzava

October 29, 1933 ~ November 11, 2016 (age 83) 83 Years Old

Whether you knew her as Joanne, Patricia or simply Pat, you knew her as your friend.

Mom, sister, Grandma, Great Grandmother, Aunt, daughter or mom-in-law it didn't matter, this was a uniquely simple yet rarely gifted lady that never didn't meet a best new friend. In short, she loved and accepted you for you. Patricia Joanne Kuzava-Ferkany had on this earth a full yet fractured life. Always ready to work, help, volunteer, listen, come along for the ride or just look for a chance to have fun with you, she always wanted to live life with those she knew and loved. The other fraction of her life was deeply acquainted with emotional pain, sorrow and worry for her family. This must have made her the rare person she was (and still is), a person everyone loved.

She loved her family very very deeply. She loved her friends very very deeply. She loved to gamble (just slot machines of course) in the mountains of Colorado or just scratching a lotto ticket, it was the unexpected surprise of success and fun to beat the odds, the money was fun too.

In so many ways she challenged the odds and had tremendous success and fun and surprise in her life. Though not wealthy she was rich beyond what most will ever know. It was always about people and relationships. She was up for anything. To just sit and talk, run errands, have lunch, watch Dancing with the Stars or a baseball game, she wanted to be around people. That's what made the last year or so, so difficult. She retreated within and couldn't break free but only for brief periods. As always she fought hard and with the same love she showed for us, her family led by her daughter's Nancy and Diane, were doing the very best they could to lead her back to who she wanted to be. Not for lack of trying we/I failed, but once again she succeeded. She didn't like herself this way and refused to become a burden. She wanted to go home and be reunited with those she missed so much. She did not want to live in confusion, pain and anger any longer.

We will miss her laughter and strength in hard times, her simple ways and momisms, but we will all say we were blessed to know Patricia Joanne Kuzava and will look so forward to reuniting with her in the greatest family reunion in heaven. She loved and trusted in the sacrifice of Jesus Christ for her salvation so as Paul wrote in his letter to the church..."We do not grieve as those without hope, for those that have fallen asleep in Christ...We will be raised up with Him and all who are in Christ will live forever. Amen."

It's hard to let go of you now however. One very special gift from God to us all. May we learn from her example and cherish everyone.
